futons futons All our futon mattresses are hand-crafted and we use fillings of airlay cotton which is a superior filling that will give a very comfortable and natural support. The quality and thickness of futons is expressed by the numbers of layers used: 5 ply futon Five layers of 5oz cotton. Recommended for light to medium duty. 6 ply futon Six layers of 5oz cotton. A good general purpose futon recommended for medium to heavy duty 7 ply futon Seven layers of 5oz cotton. Recommended for heavy duty or as a mattress only on a slatted pine bed. a 8 ply futon (2 x Four ply futons) For use on slatted pine beds - this makes it easier when turning the futon. All futon mattresses will respond to regular rolling, turning and shaking. These actions will loosen up the fibres and force fresh air through to help keep the futon at its best.The Shropshire Futon Workshop is a family orientated business set up to design, manufacture and supply high quality futons direct to the public. A strict quality control ensures that the futon is made to the highest standard. We are so confident in our product that we offer a five year warranty against faulty materials or workmanship on all futons and frames.Our bases are hand crafted with sturdy timber - much thicker and stronger than some of our competitors' products.
